Mavic engineers conducted numerous iterations, comparisons, and validations, including wind tunnel tests in Geneva, to optimise every element of the profile. The result: Comete 85 is the fastest Mavic spoke wheel they ever measured in the wind tunnel.

Technical Specifications:

Profile depth: 85mm

Internal Rim width: 23mm

External Rim width: 31mm

Front axle: 12 x 100mm

Rear axle: 12 x 142mm

Discipline: Road

Spokes: 21 Aero Carbon 14 crossed + 7 radial

Rim Diameter: 700c

Nipples: Alloy

Rim material: 100% unidirectional carbon fibre

Tyre compatibility: UST Tubeless Ready or Tubetype

Maximum weight: 120kg including bike

Braking system: Centre lock only

Bearings: Mavic Ceramic

ETRTO Size: 622x23TC

Weight: 1750g

Front Weight: 820g

Rear Weight: 930g

Understanding the different Mavic freehub body acronyms:

HG or M11 – Shimano HG Road 11/12x (other speeds with spacer)

MS - Shimano Microspline

XD - SRAM XD

XD-R - SRAM XD-R

ED11 - Campagnolo 9/12x

N3W - Campagnolo 13x

Tech Info

<button type="button" style="border-radius:999px; padding:10px 20px; border:none; background:#111214; color:#fff; font-weight:700; cursor:pointer;" onclick="
 var box = document.getElementById('techInfo2');
 box.style.display = (box.style.display === 'none') ?
