The Basso Bikes Astra Carbon All-Road Road Frameset represents a pinnacle of engineering and design, tailored for cyclists who demand versatility and performance. Meticulously developed in Italy, this frameset combines the lightweight advantages of 3k Toray Ca High Modulus Carbon Fibre with a geometry optimized for both paved roads and light off-road conditions. Its construction ensures a resilient yet agile frame that maintains the racing heritage of Basso while providing enhanced comfort and stability for everyday riding scenarios.
Featuring a 35mm tire clearance, the Astra accommodates wider tires, allowing riders to benefit from increased traction and cushioning across diverse terrains without sacrificing speed or handling precision. The innovative Paradigma Integration System streamlines internal cable routing, contributing to a clean aesthetic and improved steering responsiveness. Additionally, the 3B Clamp System Gen 2 offers a concealed, vibration-damping seatpost clamp that significantly reduces road vibrations, elevating rider comfort on longer journeys.
This frameset’s geometry incorporates dropped seatstays and a higher stack combined with a shorter reach, fostering a relaxed yet confident riding posture ideal for endurance and mixed-surface rides. Designed exclusively for flat mount disc brakes, the Astra ensures reliable stopping power and compatibility with a wide array of mechanical and electronic groupsets. Its removable Paradigma Stem further facilitates maintenance and transport, making it a practical choice for riders who value both performance and convenience.
Is the Astra suitable for gravel riding?
Yes, the Astra is designed as an all-road frameset, capable of handling light dirt roads and gravel with its 35mm tire clearance and stable geometry. However, it is optimized for mixed terrain rather than aggressive gravel or mountain biking.
Can I use electronic groupsets with this frame?
Absolutely. The Astra is compatible with both electronic and mechanical groupsets, offering full internal cable integration for a sleek and aerodynamic setup.
What sizes are available for the Astra frameset?
The Astra comes in a wide range of sizes: XXS (45), XS (48), S (51), M (53), L (56), XL (58), and XXL (61), ensuring a tailored fit for riders of various statures.
How does the Paradigma Integration System improve riding?
This system allows for internal cable routing without adding stiffness to the steering, maintaining lightweight and precise handling. It also simplifies maintenance by allowing the stem to be removed without disconnecting cables.
What warranty does this frameset have?
The Astra frameset is covered under Basso's 2 Year warranty, giving you peace of mind regarding quality and durability.
