xFenwick's Gear Cleaning Brush is a purpose-designed drivetrain cleaning brush with a 25cm long handle and dual-stiffness bristles — the standalone version of the brush included in the Fenwick's Drivetrain Cleaning Kit, available here for riders who want to replace a worn brush or add one to their existing cleaning kit. The long handle keeps your hands clear of the cassette and derailleur during cleaning, and the ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to use with the force needed to dislodge compacted grime from between cassette sprockets.
The dual-stiffness bristles are the key feature: stiffer bristles at the outer edges provide the scrubbing power to dislodge compacted grime from between cassette sprockets and around derailleur jockey wheels, while softer inner bristles sweep loosened dirt away without scratching. The light-coloured bristles make it easy to see when the brush is dirty and needs rinsing, and the bright orange handle means it won't get lost in a busy workshop. The brush is designed specifically for wide-ratio cassettes found on road, gravel, and MTB drivetrains, and reaches into the tight spaces between sprockets that a standard brush can't access. How do I use it effectively?
Apply your chosen cleaner (the Foaming Chain Cleaner works well) to the cassette and derailleur. Use the brush to work between the sprockets, around the jockey wheels, and into the chainset teeth, using the stiff outer bristles to dislodge compacted grime. Rinse with water and repeat if needed. The light-coloured bristles will show you when the brush itself needs rinsing during use.
Is it suitable for wide-ratio MTB cassettes?
Yes — the brush is specifically designed for wide-ratio cassettes, including the large-range 10-51T and similar cassettes found on modern MTB and gravel drivetrains. The long handle and dual-stiffness bristles are particularly useful for reaching into the larger gaps between sprockets on wide-range cassettes.
How do I clean the brush itself?
Rinse under running water during and after use to remove loosened grime from the bristles. The light-coloured bristles make it easy to see when the brush is clean. For a deeper clean, soak briefly in diluted bike cleaner and rinse thoroughly. Allow to air dry before storing.

- Your order, after any discounts, must be £50.00 or over. For all other orders, including those under £50.00 there is a maximum postage charge of £5.99

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
