The Galfer Wave Floating Disc Rotor is engineered to deliver exceptional braking performance for mountain bikers who demand reliability and precision. Its innovative two-piece floating design enhances heat dissipation, minimizing brake fade during intense descents while maintaining consistent stopping power. The distinctive wave profile not only reduces weight but also improves brake bite, providing a confident and controlled riding experience on technical trails.
Crafted with high-quality materials, including a high carbon stainless steel braking surface and an anodised 7075-T6 aluminium carrier, this rotor balances strength and lightweight design effortlessly. Manufactured in Spain under strict ISO-certified quality standards, the Galfer Wave Floating Disc Rotor is trusted by professional riders worldwide for its durability and consistent performance across trail, enduro, downhill, and e-MTB disciplines.
Available in multiple sizes (180 mm, 203 mm, and 223 mm), it fits most major 6-bolt MTB brake systems, ensuring wide compatibility. Whether you’re tackling steep descents, technical sections, or aggressive riding scenarios, this rotor offers superior heat resistance up to 800 °C and reduces vibration and rotor warping under high loads, making it an indispensable upgrade for your bike’s braking system.
What makes the Galfer Wave Floating Disc Rotor different from standard rotors?
The rotor features a two-piece floating design combined with a wave profile that enhances heat dissipation, reduces weight, and improves braking power, resulting in more consistent and fade-free braking performance.
Is this rotor compatible with my bike’s brake system?
The Galfer Wave Floating Disc Rotor is compatible with most major MTB 6-bolt brake systems, including Shimano, SRAM Guide Code Level (6-bolt only), Magura MT series, Hope Tech and Race series, and TRP/Tektro. Always verify rotor size and mounting interface before installation.
Which rotor size should I choose?
Sizes available are 180 mm, 203 mm, and 223 mm. The choice depends on your riding style and bike frame compatibility. Larger rotors typically offer better heat management and braking power for aggressive riding and downhill, while smaller sizes are sufficient for less demanding trail conditions.
How durable is the Galfer Wave Floating Disc Rotor?
Manufactured with high carbon stainless steel braking surfaces and an anodised 7075-T6 aluminium carrier, the rotor is designed for strength and long-term reliability. It is tested to withstand high heat (up to 800 °C) and resist warping even under extreme riding conditions.
