The Genesis Croix de Fer 20 Flat Bar 2026 is a step up in specification within the Croix de Fer flat bar family — a capable, well-rounded gravel bike built on the same durable steel platform as the rest of the range. Designed for riders who want more gearing range and a cleaner build than the entry-level CdF 10, while retaining the upright, intuitive flat bar riding position, it's a genuinely versatile machine for gravel, mixed terrain, and adventure riding. Generous clearance for 700x45c tyres provides grip and stability on loose and varied surfaces. Available in sizes from X-Small to X-Large, it's a unisex platform designed to fit a wide range of riders.
The Shimano Cues 1x11-speed drivetrain delivers smooth, reliable gear changes across a wide-range cassette — a meaningful step up from the 9-speed setup on the Croix de Fer 10, giving you finer gear increments and a broader range for varied gradients. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes provide consistent, powerful stopping in all conditions, while internal cable routing keeps the build clean and protects cables from dirt and damage. Dropper post compatibility adds further versatility for technical descents and mixed terrain, and the flat bar setup delivers precise, confident handling on loose surfaces.
The Croix de Fer 20 Flat Bar sits between the Croix de Fer 10 Flat Bar 2026 and the Croix de Fer 30 2026 in the Genesis Croix de Fer family. If you're ready to move to a drop bar setup, the CdF 30 offers a 2x10-speed drivetrain with drop bars, while the Croix de Fer 40 2026 and Croix de Fer 50 2026 step up to full Shimano GRX specifications.
What sizes are available?
The Croix de Fer 20 Flat Bar 2026 is available in X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large. We recommend checking the Genesis geometry chart or contacting us for a personalised sizing recommendation based on your riding position and inseam.
How does the Croix de Fer 20 differ from the Croix de Fer 10 Flat Bar?
Both bikes share the same steel frame and flat bar setup. The key difference is the drivetrain — the CdF 20 uses a Shimano Cues 1x11-speed groupset, giving you more gears, finer increments, and a wider range than the 1x9-speed setup on the Croix de Fer 10. The CdF 20 also features internal cable routing for a cleaner build.
Does the bike come with a dropper post fitted?
No — the frame is dropper post compatible but a dropper post is not included as standard. Contact us if you'd like advice on compatible options to add to your build.
Why choose a flat bar over a drop bar?
A flat bar gives an upright, natural riding position that many riders find more comfortable and intuitive, particularly on technical or loose terrain where precise steering control matters. It's also a great choice for riders transitioning from mountain bikes or hybrid bikes to gravel. If you prefer a drop bar, the Croix de Fer 30 2026 is the next step up in the range.
Is this bike suitable for all genders?
Yes — the Croix de Fer 20 Flat Bar uses a unisex geometry designed to work well for all riders across the available size range.
