The Hutchinson Wyrm MTB Trail Downcountry Tyre Tan Wall is a masterful blend of innovation and performance, designed to elevate your mountain biking experience. Crafted by Hutchinson, a pioneer in tubeless cycling tyre technology, this tyre bridges the gap between cross-country and enduro riding with remarkable agility and resilience. Its 29 x 2.40 size and tan wall aesthetics give your bike a distinctive look while ensuring exceptional performance on varied terrains.
Built with a 66 TPI carcass and enhanced by Hutchinson's signature XC Race Riposte tri-compound rubber, the Wyrm offers an optimal balance of efficiency, responsiveness, and puncture protection. The robust Hardskin bead-to-bead reinforcement acts like an armour, enabling it to withstand harsh conditions without compromising on weight or speed. This tyre’s large volume allows for lower pressures, delivering superior traction and comfort on rugged trails, while its low-profile design ensures quick acceleration and excellent efficiency on dry surfaces.
Inspired by a mythical creature known for its agility and strength, the Wyrm’s tread pattern features large dual chevrons for enhanced braking and rolling speed, alongside high lateral knobs for confident grip in sharp turns. The alternating side knobs and small grooves further improve cornering stability and grip, making it a versatile choice for riders seeking a reliable, all-weather downcountry setup or a complementary pairing with Hutchinson’s Kraken or Griffus tyres for more specialized trail or enduro riding.
Is the Wyrm tyre suitable for tubeless setups?
Yes, the Wyrm is Tubeless Ready (TR), meaning it can be mounted without an inner tube on compatible tubeless rims, providing improved puncture resistance and ride comfort.
How does the Wyrm compare to other Hutchinson tyres like Griffus and Kraken?
The Wyrm sits between the aggressive Griffus and the fast-rolling Kraken 2.4, offering a versatile option that balances speed, grip, and durability for downcountry and trail riders.
What kind of terrain is best for the Wyrm tyre?
The Wyrm excels on mixed terrain, including dry, rugged trails, technical corners, and moderate off-camber sections, making it ideal for riders who want one tyre to handle varied conditions.
What is the significance of the tan wall design?
The tan wall not only adds a classic, stylish look to your bike but also reflects the high-quality materials and craftsmanship that go into the tyre's construction.
