The Kids Ride Shotgun Pro Evo is the flagship front-mounted child bike seat from Kids Ride Shotgun — a 2-in-1 system that covers your child from 9 months to 5 years old in a single product. In its first configuration, the Pro Evo is a harnessed infant seat with a 5-point harness, Fidlock® magnetic childproof buckle, and sternum strap, suitable for children aged approximately 9 months to 2 years (9–15kg). When your child is ready, the seat converts to a Pro seat — the open, unrestrained position used by older toddlers and children aged 2–5 years (12–27kg) who can sit unaided and follow basic instructions. This combo includes the Pro Handlebars, giving your child something to hold on to and improving their confidence and comfort on the trail.

The Pro Evo mounts to your headset and seatpost — zero frame contact, so no scratches or wear on your bike. It is compatible with standard 1-1/8" steerer tubes and fits the vast majority of modern mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes, including those with wide down tubes. The 15-second quick release system allows the seat to be removed and refitted rapidly once the initial installation is complete — two headset spacers are included to allow fitting across two separate bikes. What is the difference between the Pro Evo and the Pro II?
The Pro Evo is the newer, second-generation flagship seat. The key upgrade over the Pro II is the 2-in-1 harnessed infant configuration — the Pro Evo can be used from 9 months with a full 5-point harness, whereas the Pro II is designed for children who can already sit unaided (typically 2–5 years). If you want a seat that works from infancy, the Pro Evo is the right choice. If your child is already 2+ and can sit unaided, either seat will work — the Pro II is available at a lower price point.

Does the Pro Evo fit my Trek mountain bike?
The Pro Evo fits the vast majority of Trek mountain bikes with a standard 1-1/8" steerer tube. Trek bikes with Knock Block headset systems require the separately available Trek Knock Block Adaptor. Trek bikes with internal cable routing through the headset require the ICR Adaptor Kit. If you are unsure whether your specific Trek model is compatible, contact us before ordering.

Can I use the Pro Evo on an e-MTB?
Yes — the Pro Evo is designed to fit modern e-MTBs including those with wide down tubes. It requires a standard 1-1/8" steerer tube and 10mm of clearance under the stem. Most e-MTBs meet these requirements. Check your bike's headset specification if unsure.
