Introducing the Maxxis Minion DHR II Tyre, a trail-ready evolution of the legendary Maxxis Minion series. Designed specifically for riders seeking exceptional cornering and braking performance, this tyre integrates a refined tread pattern borrowed from its downhill counterpart, yet crafted with lighter casings to enhance agility and speed. Its wider shoulder knobs ensure superior support on challenging terrain, while the paddle-like centre knobs improve braking control, allowing you to tackle technical descents with confidence and precision. Whether you are shredding steep trails or navigating loose and medium soil conditions, the Minion DHR II delivers unmatched traction and stability.
Built with the advanced 3C MaxxTerra compound, this tyre offers the perfect balance between grip and durability. It provides more traction than the MaxxSpeed compound but maintains better tread life and reduced rolling resistance compared to MaxxGrip, making it ideal for both aggressive trail riding and long-lasting performance. The DoubleDown casing technology adds an extra layer of puncture protection without compromising weight, ensuring that your ride stays smooth and secure even on the roughest terrain. Additionally, the tyre’s Wide Trail construction is optimized for modern wider rims, enhancing its profile and tread layout for superior handling and contact with the ground.
Designed to be tubeless ready, the Maxxis Minion DHR II reduces the risk of flats and offers lower rolling resistance, allowing you to run lower air pressures for improved traction and comfort. This tyre is perfect for riders who demand reliability and performance on loose, hard, and medium surfaces. Whether you're racing down technical descents or carving corners on your favorite trails, the Minion DHR II is engineered to perform at the highest level.
Can I use the Maxxis Minion DHR II on all types of terrain?
The Minion DHR II is best suited for loose, loose/hard, and medium terrains. While it performs well on technical trails, it is not ideal for smooth pavement or road use.
Is this tyre tubeless compatible?
Yes, the Maxxis Minion DHR II is tubeless ready, allowing you to run lower pressures for improved traction and fewer flats, provided you use the correct tubeless setup and sealants.
What rim width is recommended for this tyre?
This tyre features Wide Trail construction optimized for rims with 30-35mm inner width, delivering optimal tread profile and performance on modern wider rims.
How does the DoubleDown casing improve performance?
DoubleDown technology offers dual 120 TPI casing layers reinforced with a butyl insert, enhancing puncture protection and sidewall support while keeping the tyre lightweight enough for aggressive trail riding.
