BC Bike Race or the Downieville Classic where pushing your bike (and your wheels) beyond the demands of a typical XC course is the norm and can make a big difference on the clock.

BUILT WIDE AND LIGHT

Era SL uses the same rim for the front and rear wheels with a 22mm rim depth to keep strength up and weight down. The 29mm internal width allows up to 2.6-inch tires for all your low-pressure low rolling resistance high traction needs.

The Era SL rim is the lightest ever produced by Race Face. At 385 grams it’s same weight as those used in ultralight XC racing wheelsets. Low rim weight helps keep rotational mass low allowing quick acceleration and maintaining momentum on climbs. Era SL is not the lightest wheel out there but that was not our goal. We strived for a competitive weight that upholds our reputation for durability all at a price that makes sense for more riders.

XC BIKES NEED COMPLIANCE TOO

We took the laterally compliant trail-smoothing properties of the Era wheel to your little bike without the Enduro-rated weight. Fatigue is just as much—if not more—of a concern in shorttravel
applications and Era SL wheels come with 8.6% more lateral compliance Era wheels. That makes them feel smooth on the bumps while staying lively without any negative effect on
power transfer from the pedals.

Our 3-degree engagement Vault Hub was the obvious choice for Era SL. Built durable with an oversized shell and large diameter bearings these hubs will keep spinning for years of
racing Big Dumb Rides and daily punishment.
