The RockShox Rear Shock Vivid Ultimate DH RC2 - Standard Trunnion - D1 is engineered to excel in the most demanding downhill environments, delivering unmatched control and consistent performance on every ride. Designed to perfectly complement BoXXer forks, this rear shock enhances stability and traction, allowing riders to push their limits with confidence on technical, high-speed descents.
At the heart of its design lies the innovative LinearXL air spring, which provides a coil-like feel characterized by exceptional sensitivity off the top and robust mid-stroke support. This technology ensures a smooth yet responsive ride, adapting to varied terrain seamlessly. The Adjustable Bottom Out feature offers five distinct settings, empowering riders to fine-tune the shock’s end-stroke behavior for controlled landings and improved handling during aggressive maneuvers.
The RC2 damper brings advanced performance with independent high- and low-speed compression adjustments, enabling precise tuning to match individual riding styles and trail conditions. Enhanced mid-stroke support through updated main piston tuning maintains composure under load, while the base valve reduces IFP forces for better small-bump sensitivity and increased traction. Intuitive adjustments, including a numbered compression adjuster and a removable rebound knob that doubles as a high-speed compression and bottom-out adjuster, make setup quick and straightforward.
Is the Vivid Ultimate DH compatible with all mountain bikes?
The Vivid Ultimate DH is specifically designed for downhill mountain bikes and works best with models that feature a Standard Trunnion mount. It is optimized to pair with RockShox BoXXer forks for a fully integrated suspension setup.
How does the Adjustable Bottom Out feature improve the ride?
This feature allows riders to customize the shock’s end-stroke behavior, providing up to five settings to control how the shock responds during landings and aggressive impacts, leading to better control and reduced harshness.
Can I adjust the shock settings on the trail easily?
Yes, the shock includes a numbered compression adjuster for quick and intuitive setup changes, as well as a removable rebound knob that doubles as a high-speed compression and bottom-out adjuster, making on-the-fly tuning convenient.
What makes the LinearXL spring different from traditional air springs?
The LinearXL air spring offers a coil-like feel with increased sensitivity off the top and stronger mid-stroke support, providing a balance between plush comfort and firm control that is ideal for downhill riding.
