The Surly Ogre 29" Frameset is designed for riders who demand versatility and durability in one robust package. Crafted from 100% Surly Chromoly steel with a double-butted main triangle, this frameset offers a perfect balance of strength and weight for all your cycling adventures. Whether you're commuting through the city or tackling rugged singletrack trails, the Ogre adapts seamlessly to varied terrains without compromising performance.
Featuring a tweaked non-suspension corrected geometry, the Ogre ensures a comfortable and responsive ride. Its horizontal slotted dropouts with Gnot-Boost spacing accommodate a wide range of hub standards, including 135mm QR, 142 x 12mm thru-axle, and 148 x 12mm Boost hubs, making it highly adaptable for customization. The frameset also includes thoughtful details like the Rohloff torque arm slot, threaded eyelets for mudguards, racks, and Surly trailer mounts, enhancing its utility for long-distance touring and daily commuting.
With full-length Surly Trip Guide housing line guides for derailleurs and brakes, as well as multiple bottle cage mounts, the Ogre is built for practical convenience. Its disc brakes-only design supports 51mm IS mounts and accommodates rotors up to 160mm with the included Surly caliper adaptor. The frame's E.D. coating increases longevity by protecting against corrosion, and generous tire clearance allows for 29 x 2.5" or 27.5 x 3" tires, ready to conquer diverse trail conditions.
Can I use this frameset for touring with heavy loads?
Yes, the Ogre is equipped with multiple threaded eyelets for racks, mudguards, and trailer mounts, making it ideal for carrying gear on long-distance tours.
What type of brakes does the frameset support?
The Ogre supports disc brakes only, with mounts designed for 51mm IS discs and rotor sizes up to 160mm using the included Surly caliper adaptor.

In some cases, we may ship items out with another courier, depending on the status and availability of items ordered. (Customers will not be charged more and will be refunded any unused postage cost) If part of an order is cancelled and the total drops below the £50.00 free postage, a postage charge may be taken.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
