The TRP Rotor R1C Centrelock 2.3mm rotors are engineered for high-performance braking, particularly suited for demanding downhill and e-MTB riders. Featuring a robust 2.3mm thickness, these rotors offer enhanced heat dissipation and significantly reduced warping under extreme conditions. The unique two-piece centrelock design combines an aluminium core for superior stiffness and lightweight properties with a stainless steel braking surface, ensuring reliable and consistent stopping power every time you hit the trail.
With six recessed slots strategically integrated into the rotor surface, water, mud, and debris are efficiently channeled away during braking. This innovative design maintains consistent brake feel in mixed and challenging terrain, preventing power loss caused by contamination between pads and rotor. Available in multiple diameters—223mm, 220mm, 203mm, and 180mm—these rotors provide versatility for various setups, while the inclusion of rotor wear indicators helps you monitor rotor condition and maintain peak performance.
Designed exclusively for TRP’s DHR and E-MTB brake systems, the R1C rotors deliver a 47% increase in tensional stiffness and an 8% improvement in cooling capacity compared to previous models. The refined engineering reduces vibrations and enhances braking power, allowing riders to push their limits with confidence. Whether tackling steep descents or technical trails, these rotors are a reliable upgrade for anyone seeking precision and durability in their braking components.
Are these rotors compatible with all TRP brake systems?
These R1C rotors are specifically designed for TRP’s DHR and e-MTB brake systems and require centrelock hubs. They are not compatible with all TRP models, so it is important to check your brake system specifications before purchasing.
What benefits does the 2.3mm thickness provide?
The increased 2.3mm thickness reduces operating heat by 8% and decreases rotor warping by 15%, which means better performance and durability, especially under the high stress of downhill and electric mountain biking.
Do these rotors come with mounting hardware?
These rotors typically include mounting bolts but do not come with the lock-ring required for centrelock hubs, so you may need to purchase that separately.
How do the recessed slots improve braking?
The six recessed slots allow water, mud, and debris to escape from between the pad and rotor during braking, preventing loss of braking power and ensuring a consistent brake feel in varied trail conditions.
Can I use these rotors on other types of mountain bikes?
While designed for downhill and e-MTB use, they can be used on other mountain bikes if the brake system and hub compatibility match. However, their enhanced stiffness and heat management features are most beneficial in high-demand riding scenarios.
